An exhaust silencer is a device for reducing sound emissions. There are various types of mufflers, which reduce the sound generated due to different mechanisms of action. In general, absorption or interference mufflers damper can be used. An absorption silencer is used to reduce the air outlet noise of a pipeline. Through the annulus collector, the exhaust medium flows, the walls are constructed of perforated plates and behind it filled with mineral wool. For race engines (especially Turbo) is always advisable an absorption silencer, as this reduces the exhaust back pressure.
